27th Annual 17th Street High Heel Race

The historic and hysterical 17th Street High Heel Race is coming up quick.  This Washington, DC tradition is a must watch and experience event.  Starting at Cobalt, located at 17th and R St NW, and ending several blocks south at JR’s Bar and (Grill) at 17th and Church.

Watching the “ladies” running down the street, sometimes breaking high heels, while trying to keep their outfits together couldn’t be a funnier sight.

Washington DC Mayor Vincent Gray will be the Grand Marshal and will be accompanied by performers Birdie La Cage and Banaka.

When: October 29th, 2013
Parade Start Time: 7pm
Race Start Time: 9pm

To participate, runners must sign in at Cobalt to get a bracelet.  To volunteer, show up before 6:30 at JR’s for instructions.  17th Street NW will be closed from 6:30 to 10:30 Tuesday evening for this event so plan your transportation accordingly.
